Who is behind the skirt names
As someone from the north, pronouncing Bavarian names such as “Steckerleis,” “Heimandal,” and “Oisweadguad” correctly is quite a challenge for me. I try to spare myself the embarrassment of mispronouncing them in front of real Bavarians. So who is behind this original naming?
When I started producing my tradition-inspired skirts, one thing quickly became clear: Every Rockmacherin skirtshould have its own name.
The brilliant idea came from my husband Alexander: Why not give them Bavarian names?
His native dialect is full of expressive words – and since then, his Bavarian vocabulary has been flowing freely. I then select the names that perfectly match each skirt.
This creative ritual is something we still cherish today – with every new Rockmacherin collection.
Each name tells its own story, blending Bavarian tradition with contemporary folk-style fashion, turning every skirt into a one-of-a-kind piece.
P.S.: By popular request, we’re working on a Rockmacherin Dictionary for our growing fan base north of the Danube – so everyone can understand the charm behind our Bavarian skirt names.
